The Future is Imminent: Charting the Next Era of TrustGraph

For everyone who has been part of the TrustGraph journey, from our earliest releases to today, a heartfelt thank you! Your engagement, feedback, discussions about use cases, and enthusiasm for the future have been the bedrock of our development. It’s been an incredible adventure co-creating with this community, and we truly, truly appreciate every contribution.

As many of you have sensed, a pivotal moment for TrustGraph is just around the corner: Version 1.0 is imminent! 🥳 We genuinely couldn't be more excited about what this signifies and the capabilities it will unlock.

A Quick Note on Version 0.23: Our Bridge to Tomorrow

With the horizon of 1.0 so close, Version 0.23 holds a unique spot. Up until now, we’ve aimed for every iteration of TrustGraph to be production-worthy. Version 0.23, however, is a little different – think of it as a crucial bridge to the future, incorporating foundational work that sets the stage for the innovations in 1.0.

Because of this transitional nature, we can’t, with a clear conscience, label 0.23 as fully "production-grade." For those requiring absolute stability in their current deployments, we recommend sticking with Version 0.22 for the time being. But for the adventurous souls keen to glimpse the architectural shifts and willing to explore, 0.23 is there for you to spin up! For everyone else, the comprehensive, robust, and groundbreaking Version 1.0 is coming VERY SOON.

Embracing Openness: A Shift to Apache 2.0 Licensing

When we first launched TrustGraph, the licensing choice was a subject of much internal debate. We initially settled on AGPL-3.0, seeking a balance that included some protective measures. In retrospect, those measures were likely more complex than necessary.

Our vision for TrustGraph’s commercial value is clear, and it doesn’t revolve around gatekeeping through complicated licenses. We believe in the power of open collaboration and want to remove any barriers to adoption and contribution. That's why, effective immediately, TrustGraph is now licensed under Apache 2.0! This shift reflects our commitment to fostering an even more open and collaborative ecosystem.

The Dawn of 1.0: A Dynamic, Living Knowledge Platform

So, what does the future hold with TrustGraph 1.0 and beyond? We're set to break the mold for knowledge platforms. We’re moving beyond static pipelines or simple RAG add-ons to create a truly dynamic and living knowledge platform.
